Our recovery program is licensed and certified by the State of California, and partially funded by the County of San Diego, Health and Human Services Agency, Alcohol and Drug Services.
Our philosophy, admission criteria, and ultimate objectives are based on our personal knowledge and experience of what it takes to regain and maintain sobriety.
We provide a no-frills, social-model program of recovery that requires a 120-day commitment to change your life—and save it.
SCHEDULED ACTIVITIES
During their time here, residents’ lives are highly structured. They attend five hours of meetings daily, some with the entire population and some in smaller study groups, that are based on the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and time in the program. Study group topics include:
● The Problem
● Traditions
● Higher Power
● The Solution
● The “Big Book”
● Self-help
● Actions Necessary for Recovery
● Resentments
There are one-on-one discussions with staff every day, and daily periods during which the men perform assigned chores, general maintenance and construction projects around the Ranch.
Our residents also assist community, civic and church groups throughout the East San Diego County Mountain Empire (read more).
PROGRAM COMPLETION
Before a resident leaves the Ranch, he must complete an exit plan that specifies where he’ll live and work, the name of his sponsor and the locations of the A.A. or N.A. meetings he’ll attend. For those who need it to satisfy legal requirements, the Ranch provides a letter of completion.
Residents who need jobs may be hired by our broad network of alumni, or occasionally referred to other organizations that are willing to help. Men whom we believe require further structured recovery time are referred to other residential or outpatient facilities.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Unique in San Diego County, the Ranch occupies over 200 ruggedly serene acres that include special areas set aside for family visits and quiet meditation. Living quarters are bunkhouse style, with 6 to 10 residents per room. Toiletries and clothing are provided to residents who need them. Recreation options include weightlifting, horseshoes, miniature golf and movie nights.
COST
We don’t turn anybody away for inability to pay. We also don’t accept insurance.
For residents of San Diego County, our program fee is based on a sliding scale according to income.
All fees are payable one month in advance and are nonrefundable.
